First Day of School Information

Hello parents and guardians:

Staff throughout the school have been very busy this week preparing the school for our exciting start to the school year on Tuesday September 3.  For our kindergarten students, JK students should have received a postcard with necessary information. Our SK students will be starting on Wednesday September 4.  We just wanted to communicate a few notes prior to the first day of school.

First Morning Routine

On the first morning of school, between 8:45 AM – 9:00 AM, we ask that all students in grades 1-8 meet on the back playground.  All homeroom teachers will be there to greet their students and will usher the students in the school at the appropriate time.  Students arriving via bus will be escorted to the back lot to join their homeroom class. Extra school staff will be on hand to assist with any students that may not know who their homeroom teacher is. If it is raining we will congregate in the gymnasium.

Parking Lot Safety

Building off of the great cooperation we received last year, our school parking lot will be remain closed to all vehicles before school at 8:30 AM and in the afternoon at 2:30 PM.  This ensures that school grounds remain a safe place for our students on foot and school buses.  We continue to encourage students to walk or bike to school.  For those that need to drive their students to school refer to our neighbourhood parking map that will be coming home in the welcome package the first week of school.

Welcome to Staff

A warm welcome to some new additions to our Ancaster Meadow staff.  Welcome to Ms. Schmelzle (LTO in Grade 12B), Ms. Trieu (LTO in Grade 4B), Ms. Solano (Educational Assistant).  We look forward to announcing the LTO teacher in grade 8B shortly.
