Principal Update March 22

Hello,

The students and staff have got right back into the swing of things after March Break, the school is busy with activities both in and out of the classroom.

Ancaster Meadow continues to have a number of extra-curricular activities for students in a variety of interest areas. Some of the activities currently on the go include: Robotics Club, Primary Choir, Cricket, Triathlon, Senior Swim Team, and Junior Basketball.  Students are encouraged to listen to the announcements for notice of activities and the announcements are also available on our website for parents.

Grade 6 students have the possibility to go to the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF) and Scientist in the School is occurring for younger students.

I want to thank families for the cooperation with the new parking lot sign. The movable sign is much more manageable and  families have been following the routines of the closed parking lot during pick up and drop off. Overall the parking lot is a much safer place. As the warmer weather returns, students are encouraged to walk or bike to school.

To reduce the disruption to afternoon classes, families are asked to limit the amount of early dismissals. If an early dismissal is absolutely necessary, please coordinate pick up times with the class period times. The afternoon nutrition break is 1:00-1:40pm, the transition between period 5 and 6 is 2:30pm. Limiting pick ups to these times reduces disruptions to class instruction. The office staff are not able to page into classrooms during the afternoon periods for early dismissals.

Enjoy the first weekend of spring,

Simon Goodacre, Principal
