Principal Update Nov 2

Hello,

This week has ended with Parent Interviews. While this is a formal moment to connect with a teacher, communication between home and school should be a continuous and ongoing process. While I know parents appreciate the information about what is happening at school, also remember that teachers find information about what is happening outside of school useful as well. Communication is most valuable when both home and school are working together. While each teacher might approach communication in their individual manner, it is something that staff at Ancaster Meadow constantly share and discuss new ideas to improve.

We had four volleyball teams compete in a tournament hosted at Ancaster High this week. All teams did very well and each placed second.  The school wrapped up Socktober and 2890 pairs of socks were collected for donation. The school also had a very successful Halloween Day with our costume parades and Intermediate dance; a lot of fun was had.

Ancaster High is hosting an Information night for families of students in grade 7 and 8 on Wed Nov 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm. All families are encouraged to attend. Ancaster High will also be hosting a grade 8 Option Sheet information night at the end of January. https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/elementary/plan-for-school/grade-7-8-information-nights/

A message from our  Home & School Association that Lunch Box Orders are due Sunday at noon https://www.lunchboxorders.com/ for Thurs Nov 8 lunch. Remember both the lunch orders and pizza days are arranged by parent volunteers. It is a lot of work – we are always thankful for the time and effort they put in!
