Principal Update June 8

Hello,

Today was a PA Day, with teachers focusing on final report cards. We are in the final weeks of school and there is a lot on around the school. School-wide events are on the website calendar; class-based events are communicated wither through teacher blogs, newsletters, or agendas.

This week we hosted over 20 schools over two days for a soccer tournament. Our grade 1 classes went to see the HWDSB ArtSmart presentation of Cinderella at Glendale Secondary. Many of our grade 7 students went to a Destination College program hosted by Mohwak College.

Next week brings the HWDSB Track & Field meet and our Poetry contest. On Friday June 15th our Home & School Association is hosting the annual Spring Fling. All families are encouraged to come out from 4:30 -7:30pm to enjoy a huge selection of different activities.

Graduation – Wed June 20

Report Cards go home – Mon June 25

Last Day for students – Thurs June 28

All library books should be returned this week. Information about the HWDSB Summer Reading Contest is posted on the website in a separate message.

Finally, I would like to congratulate our Vice-Principal, Chris Blunsdon, on his promotion to Principal. In September, he will be the Principal of HillCrest Elementary School. We wish him the best of luck in his new school and position. The new VP for Ancaster Meadow has not been appointed yet.
