Principal update – March 23

Hello,

It has been a busy week back from the March Break, the school has a lot of different activities going on. Some highlights this week were the grade 4-8 oral communication competition and the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair; it is wonderful to see the amazing work that Ancaster Meadow students can produce.  Next week, we have a group of students participating in the HWDSB Robotics Competition.

A reminder that information regarding the Human Growth and Development unit is on the website in a separate post. These lessons will be occurring over the next 2 weeks. Questions about this unit should be directed to Mrs. Mataseje and Mr. Woldarczyk.

The Easter Holidays with starting next Friday, there will be no school on Friday March 30 and Monday April 2. Information about the HWDSB school year calendar can be found at https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/elementary/plan-for-school/calendar/

On Tuesday April 24  from 5:30- 7:00pm.  Class 4/5  is involved with The Learning Partnership and are planning a Family Financial Literacy/ Coding Night in conjunction with our School Council. There will be 2 Certified Public Accountants coming to give a workshop to parents about “How to talk to your child about money” and a workshop to students about “How much does a pet cost”. There will also be a showcase of student Scratch Coding. Class 4/5 will also be selling pizza and drinks before the workshops on this night with all proceeds going to McMaster Children’s Hospital and the SPCA.  We hope to have take home bags for the families that come out and some door prizes too.
