Principal Update – Mar 9

Hello,

It has been a busy week on the sporting front at Ancaster Meadow. We started the week with students successfully competing in a cricket tournament. On Tuesday night, our Senior Boys’ Basketball team won the HWDSB City Championship in a 27-26 nail-biter. That was followed up with Ancaster Meadow hosting a very successful indoor soccer tournament at Redemeer involving 12 schools. The students at Ancaster Meadow are definitely athletic.

Thank you to our Home & School parent volunteers and all the families that came out and showed their support at the Buffalo Wild Wings fundraising on Wednesday night.

The information letters regarding the Health Human Growth and Development unit will be made available in a separate post. These letters will also be available in paper form from class teachers.

Next week is March Break. There are no classes and the school is closed during this week.

On Tuesday Mar 20, our in-school Oral Language (Speech) competition will take place. Successful students will be chosen to represent the school at the Board-level competition later in the year. On Thursday Mar 22, grade 8 graduation photos will be held; information forms were handed out directly to students.  Also on the Thursday, we will have a number of students participating in the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair.

Regardless of whether you are travelling or staying home, I hope everyone has some time together as a family over the break.

Have a wonderful March Break,

Simon Goodacre, Principal
