Principal update – Mar 1
Hello,
Today students enjoyed our Winter Wellness day and participated in a number of different activities ranging from indoor sports, various arts and crafts, board games, and coding. There was a lot of excitement and enjoyment around the school.
Our senior boys’ basketball team won their semi-final game this week and will be playing for the City championship on Tues Mar 6 at 6:45pm at Waterdown District High School. Also on the sports front, we have a team competing in the Redemeer University Indoor soccer tournament next week.
This week has the 49th Annual HWDSB Checker Tournament. A huge undertaking organized by Ancaster Meadow’s own Mr. Trikoupis. We also had a number of grade 8 students volunteer as student leaders. Ancaster Meadow won the grade 4 and grade 8 levels and was tied for first overall.
A reminder to all parents that tomorrow, Friday March 3rd, is a PA Day and there is no school. March Break is also fast approaching the week of March 12-16th.
We have a number of students coming to office asking for extra food. We keep a small amount of food available for emergencies but it is not supposed to be for regular lunch. As we have two shorter nutrition breaks instead of a single lunch hour, many students require food for both nutrition breaks. Parents are encouraged to pack a healthy snack or piece of fruit in addition to the main lunch.
Have a great weekend,
Simon Goodacre, Principal
