3-Pitch for Gr 5- 8

Good evening, Greenleaf Families!

We are excited that HWDSB is moving forward with extra curricular activities. Our first school sports team will be 3-Pitch (outdoor, low risk activity). We will have 4 teams participating in a one day tournament:

Junior Girls – grades 5, 6 and 7 on September 24
Junior Boys – grades 5, 6 and 7 on September 21
Senior Girls – grade 8 on September 23
Senior Boys – grade 8 on September 20

Athletic Forms – as per HWDSB, students may only participate in athletics with a completed Student Athlete Information & Permission Form. These NEED to be handed in to the appropriate coach BEFORE the first tryout with NO EXCEPTIONS.

If your child expressed an interest in trying out, they were given a form on Friday, September 10th. This form needs to be returned ASAP as tryouts begin the week of September 13…listen to the announcements.

COVID 19 PROTOCOLS (as per HWDSB)

For players

•IF YOU ARE NOT WELL or exhibit any of the COVID Symptoms follow the advice of the screening tool – Do NOT attend practice

•Each student must complete the “Athletic Form” prior to engaging in any physical activity

•Each student must complete a covid self-assessment (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/) pass the assessment and be symptom-free prior to arriving at the field; verify successful screening to Head Coach

•If you have any covid symptoms that arise during practice, please notify a coach immediately

•Hand hygiene is to be practiced prior to and after participation – changeroom, field arrival and during breaks

•Follow all directions of coaches

•Participants should avoid congregating at all times and arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to warm-up and depart no later then 15 minutes after the activity has been completed (practice or game).

•Bring a personal water bottle – absolutely no sharing of water bottles

•Maintain physical distance from others, don’t participate in unnecessary physical contact eg. high fives

•If you test positive for covid you need to contact the Head Coach and or school immediately.

For parents and spectators

•Due to enhanced public health measures, at this time we are NOT able to welcome spectators at athletics events. Our priority remains the safe return to athletics for HWDSB students.

If your child makes the 3 Pitch Team, further information will be provided (eg. schedule, tournament location)
