SWO Grade 8 BAND SIGN UP and NEWS

Our Grade 8 Band will begin weekly morning rehearsals, starting  Tuesday October 11th at 8 am.
Rehearsal will run from 8 am -9 am every Tuesday, unless otherwise noted. Come out and start learning the music for our first performance in November!

SIGN UP  October 5 – 7, 2016 – Gr. 8 Students may sign up for band during class time with Ms Lieske.

In addition to our weekly rehearsal as an ensemble, please encourage your child to practice the band music some time between rehearsals. The music is challenging (that’s what makes it fun to play and hear!), but the rewards of membership in a performing ensemble are worth it!

Please be reminded that band is considered a commitment. While our band is open to any student in Grade 8, members are expected to attend regularly. Band members who miss more than 3 rehearsals will not be prepared for the performance, and therefore will be asked not to participate in the upcoming concert and/or excursion. If you MUST miss rehearsal, please let Ms. Lieske or Mrs. Broer know in advance.

Concert Dress: In order to promote unity in our ensemble, band members are asked to wear dark pants or skirts, dark shoes, and a white top (blouse, shirt, sweater, etc) to all
