Week of Oct 30 -Nov 3

Dear Queensdale Families,

A reminder that there will be a Halloween parade at the front of the school today at 1:45pm for all JK-Gr5  & DHOH students. Please leave the walkways and sidewalks open and gather around the perimeter of the front walkway and along Queensdale where the parade will take place.  At 1:30pm our Grade 6-8 students will either be attending a dance in the gym or gathering in a classroom to participate in games and other activities.  Please have an enjoyable and safe Halloween!

Students in Gr 4/5, 6A and all grade 7’s will be attending a school trip to “Rock the Orchestra” on Wed Nov 1

All Gr 8 students will be attending the Sir Allan MacNab “Slice of Life” event on Wed Nov 1st as well.

A reminder that this Thursday, November 2nd from 3:30-6:00pm and Friday, November 3rd from 9:00-11:30am are our parent teacher interviews. Please be sure to contact your child’s teacher(s) to set up appointments. Our gr 6-8  teachers will be available to meet with parents/guardians in the gymnasium during these times. Please set up appointments through the teachers.

This Friday, November 3rd is a PD day so there is no school for students. Teachers will be conducting parent teacher interviews.

Our school sign was out of order for a few days and we were unable to access it so our apologies for this inconvenience. Everything is up and running smoothly now.

Please be sure to check the School Calendar on our school website as we post all school events. The calendar is located at the top of the Queensdale website on the left beside the “HOME” tab. You can scroll through the calendars for a listing of events. We are doing our best to post events as soon as we know about them to keep you updated and informed.

A reminder to parents/guardians of those students in after school programs. We are asking that you wait outside the front doors at the dismissal times to pick up your child from the programs as the supervisors need to ensure that all students are picked up by the individual listed on the registration forms.

Please read the information below for detail about Queensdale Holiday Concerts.

 Gr 1A, 1/2A, 1/2B, 3A, 3/4A ,3/4B and the DHOH (Deaf & Hard Of Hearing Class) will take place on Tuesday, December 19th from 9:00-10:30.  Students may invite 2 family members to attend the concerts due to space limitations. There will be no Holiday Concerts for student in Gr 4/5 and up as they have decided to have individual classroom celebrations. Students may not request to have siblings in other classes attend concerts as this will be disruptive to classroom programs.

Our Kindergarten Classroom Holiday Concerts will take place on Wednesday, December 20th in your child’s classroom.

JK/SKA – Ms. Morin & Ms. Hone – 9:15-10:15am

JK/SKB – Ms. Visser and Ms. Bennett – 11:15-12:15pm

JK/SKC – Ms. Urfey and Ms. Hall – 1:45-2:45pm

Students may invite 2 family members to attend the concerts due to space limitations. Students may not request to have siblings in other classes attend concerts as this will be disruptive to classroom programs.
