Our School

Eastdale Public School is located in Stoney Creek near Gray Rd. and Barton St. on a 4.5 acre lot. The school has a large playground with two baseball diamonds and a basketball court. The school was built in 1965 and the gym was added in 1979. Eastdale is on a Balanced School Day with three 100 minute periods of instruction and two 40 minute Nutrition Breaks.

The breaks allow for better nutrition and active living through outdoor play.  Our school-wide character focus uses the S.O.U.L Model for decision making. Eastdale School is a terrific place to spend your day!

The implications for this include:

  2. Deeper knowledge of individual strengths and weaknesses as a learner
  3. Increased need for student engagement through purposeful tasks
  4. Deepening of skills in collaboration and discourse

Parent & Community Involvement

  • Our demographic data shows that we are the average Canadian community
  • 7% of our students are born outside of Canada
  • 80% of our families live in detached homes
  • We have Co-op students from the local high school who are active in the daily activities at Eastdale

  • We have a very active and involved School Council.  School Council supports staff in staff recognition days and in purchasing extra educational resources through active, ongoing fundraisers.  School Council members support the classroom by helping with the Book Fair, in the Milk Program, Pizza Days, Special Lunch Days,  Terry Fox Walk, Winter Festival, coaching and the annual Baseball Tournament and BBQ.  Our School Council is an exemplary team that works cooperatively with staff, students and parents.
