Math – Home Connection

These links provide some fun, at-home mathematics activities for parents to work on with their children.

Bedtime Math – https://bedtimemath.org
Bedtime Math provides a daily math problem for different age groups, generally pre-K, K–Grade 2, and Grade 2 and up, although specific ages aren’t listed. The site’s intent is to make math a regular occurrence for families. Answers are included, so kids won’t get too frustrated if they can’t figure a problem out; parents may want to read the problem to their children, as they would a bedtime story.

Estimation 180 – https://www.estimation180.com
Estimation 180 is a site for students to work on both their number sense and problem solving skills.  Each day a different estimation problem is posted for you and your child to collaborate on.

Prodigy – https://www.prodigygame.com/

Prodigy is a free, adaptive math game for grades 1-7 that integrates Ontario math into a role-playing game using a Pokémon-style wizardry theme. Based on the student’s profile and an invisible diagnostic run during the preliminary tutorial, students are placed at a math level that reflects their grade level achievement. As they play, question difficulty is increased or decreased depending upon their answers and facility with the skills. If a student struggles with a concept, following questions will backfill the necessary skills.  Feel free to set up an account for your child or ask if their teacher has a class account they can continue at home. Note: The paid membership does not unlock any additional educational content.
