Terry Fox Run – Sept 28

In keeping with our annual tradition, Cootes Paradise is pleased to be participating in the Terry Fox Event Thursday, September 28 at 2pm.  The Terry Fox Run is an annual, non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox.  His Marathon of Hope aimed to raise money for cancer research.  If you would like to support the Terry Fox Foundation please send in a ‘Toonie for Terry’ to be collected by homeroom teachers.  Donations can be made online at www.terryfox.org – Donate Now – Cootes Paradise School.

Grade 5’s will be coordinating the event.  Each class will have an assigned leader in addition to the homeroom teacher who will lead the students from their line on the blacktop around a loop in churchill park.  FDK classes will be lead out of the school at 2:15pm and complete two loops around our Cootes Paradise track.  This is a Terry Fox walk.  Parents are welcome to join in or to cheer the students on from the loop in the park or from beside our Cootes Paradise Track.

In addition, Home and School has once again kindly donated an apple for each student once they have completed the walk.

* Rain Date is scheduled for Friday, September 29 at 2pm.
