Pink Shirt Day – Pink Shirt Day will be recognized this week on February 25. Originating from a high school in Nova Scotia, Canada, this day began when students wore pink shirts to support a classmate who was bullied for wearing one. This simple act of solidarity has grown into a global event that reminds us all to practice empathy, support each other, and create a world where everyone feels safe and respected. This year’s theme is “Sprinkle Kindness”. We encourage staff and students to wear pink as a way to demonstrate their commitment to interrupting acts of bullying and to support the work of building a community of care at Winona.
STEAM Family Night – Save the Date!
We are excited to share that our School Council will be supporting a STEAM Family Night (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) on April 16. This evening will bring students and families together to explore hands-on activities connected to STEAM. As we prepare for the event, School Council is also looking to connect with any community contacts or partners who might support or enhance the evening. If you have a contact, connection, or resource that you think could contribute to this event, please reach out to School Council ([email protected]).
More event details will be shared soon. We look forward to seeing many families there.
