Thank you to our Winona Parent Engagement Committee for planning an insightful evening of learning with Professor Eizadirad last Thursday.  We appreciate your commitment and effort in putting together an evening for our community.

SAVE THE DATE—OPEN HOUSE—We are excited to invite Winona families to our Open House and Spring Showcase event. Please visit the school between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm on May 8. This is an opportunity to see Winona, showcase our students’ work, clubs, and teams, and tour the school. The Open House will include the School Council Pizza Booth, Face Painting, a Scholastic Book Fair (cash and debit/credit), and other items.

Communicating Changes in Arrangements – To ensure smooth pick-up arrangements, we kindly request your cooperation in sharing any changes as early as possible during the school day. Early Communication is helpful as our teachers may not always have the opportunity to read emails sent later in the day due to their teaching commitments. To avoid any confusion or delays, we encourage you to reach out to us by 2:00 PM if you need to modify your child’s pick-up arrangements. If you send an email to your child’s teacher, please consider copying our office staff at [email protected]. This way, we can ensure that your message is received promptly. Alternatively, you can call our office directly. Our staff will be happy to assist you.  Additionally, please be aware that from approximately 2:30 PM onwards, classes may be in the process of packing up or transitioning to outdoor daily physical activities.

Are You Moving? – To help with planning, notify your child’s homeroom teacher or the school office if you will not be returning for September 2025.  Registration has begun not only for Kindergarten but also for any students entering an HWDSB school for September 2025.  If you are planning on moving within the district, you can register for your September school now.  Early registration helps schools plan for their September staffing and enrollment.
