
School Council AGM
THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL COUNCIL IS TO:
Advise the Principal and, where appropriate, the school board.
Place students’ interests first
Support school success planning goals
Encourage parent and community involvement
Promote positive attitudes towards public education
Last year, a dedicated group of Winona caregivers actively engaged with our school staff, offering valuable input and feedback on what matters most to Winona families
School Council members also planned and organized several events throughout the year and successfully fundraising for our school. For example, our End of Year Celebration raised over $2,000 for Winona students. Last year, funds raised through School Council initiatives supported the Grade 8 commencement celebration, transportation for school excursions and athletics, physical education equipment, kindergarten program materials, the snack program, a social media presentation, and classroom technology.
