School Parking Lot – We ask for your continued support in ensuring student safety during drop-off and pick-up times. Our school experiences a significant amount of traffic each day, and we are fortunate to have a parking lot that accommodates both staff and family parking. While this is a great benefit to our community, it also presents some challenges.

Here are a few important reminders to help us all navigate the parking lot safely and efficiently.

Patience and Courtesy: Please be patient and courteous to one another. Avoid leaving your vehicle unattended in a space where it may block others from entering or exiting.

Bus Loading Zone: The area along the school yard fence is reserved for our 12 buses that load and unload each day. This week, pylons will be placed along this area to help families visualize the bus loading zone. Please do not park in this area or ignore a staff member’s request to move your vehicle.

Off Setting Your Pick-Up Times: For those with older children (e.g., Grades 5-8) who can wait a minute or two in the school yard, consider offsetting your pick-up time. The parking lot is noticeably less congested by 3:05 PM.

School Council –  Winona School Council will hold its annual elections to identify voting members and positions such as School Council Chair. Elected members vote on School Council matters and represent the group’s ideas and advisory suggestions for the Principal. All meetings are open to all parents/guardians who wish to attend.  You do not need to attend all meeting or be an elected member to attend.

The School Council Nomination Form is posted at this link.  We would love to have you involved!  The first meeting of School Council will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in the Library.  Please be sure to hand in your self-nomination form by Friday, September 20th, if interested in an official role on the Winona School Council.  Print or email ([email protected]) submissions will be accepted.
