Public Health Vaccine Records – Make sure your child’s vaccine records are up to date. If records are missing, your child may not be allowed to attend school during the suspension period. Elementary School Vaccine Dates
Important Forms to Complete – This is a reminder that we ask that all families take the time to review and complete important forms in the ParentPortal. These forms only need to be reviewed annually and support us in having current and up to date information at school. These include:
– Student Athlete Information Permission (to be used on class and sports excursions)
– Digital Tool & Media Permission Form
– Early Closure and Emergency Evacuation
– Student Information Verification (review for changes)
Lockdown Drills – The term “Lockdown” is used when there is a major incident or threat of school violence within the school or in relation to the school. As part of our Secure School Protocol, the staff and students at Winona practice Lockdown procedures twice annually. Before each drill, teachers will have age-appropriate discussions regarding the drill and their expectations. To ensure there is no confusion, these rehearsals are identified as drills via an announcement (i.e. THIS IS A DRILL). We have planned our first lockdown drill of the school year for Friday, December 5th. Please contact the school if you have further questions regarding the Lockdown procedures at Winona and/or review HWDSB Secure Schools.
Clothing Drive – Our clothing drive continues this week. We are looking to collect gently used sweaters, jackets, pants, boots/shoes, hats, mittens, scarves, etc. There will be boxes set up in the front foyer, starting tormorrow for students to drop off any donations in. These clothing items will be donated to students in need at Queen Victoria School.
