This year, we are adding even more fun for families, including a variety of games for students. To make the games extra special, we are collecting small prize donations for our treasure chest—because one person’s clutter is another’s treasure. If you have a drawer full of trinkets like fidget toys, bracelets, pencils, Happy Meal toys, or other small items, we would love to repurpose them as game prizes. A collection box will be available in the office for donations. Thank you in advance.
Transportation Delays -HWSTS has informed schools that many school bus routes and taxi trips will experience delays on Friday, June 13, 2025. These delays are unavoidable due to the closure of the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) in both directions for scheduled maintenance. While our school routes do not directly use the LINC, buses serve multiple routes and school excursions, making it difficult to anticipate the impact on our school. Bus operators will work to minimize delays and will provide timely updates. Taxi operators, who prioritize HWSTS school trips, will also strive to keep disruptions to a minimum.
Ticks – As we are into tick season, we want to remind parents to be regularly checking for ticks. Staff will help to remind students to do quick self check when they return indoors after outdoor activities, especially if they have been playing in grassy areas. It may be helpful to know that American dog ticks are the most common tick found in our area, they cannot transmit Lyme disease. For more information, Lyme Disease and Ticks – Hamilton Public Health
