Bus Transportation for 2024/2025 – Families eligible for transportation services were messaged regarding a new OPT IN or OPT OUT process. The registration deadline (opting in OR opting out) is Friday, June 14.  One registration form for each student residing at the same home address must be completed. Students starting Junior Kindergarten in 2024-25 will be automatically assigned. For students eligible for transportation, but do not intend to use the bus, families are asked to complete the Opt-Out Form.  Further details and links can be found in the linked message. June 5 School Bus Registration HWSTS Message

Courtesy Transportation for 2024/2025 – Only eligible students will be able to ride the bus. Families who are not eligible for transportation can complete a request for courtesy ridership.  Courtesy forms are available in the office or online.  Courtesy forms will be reviewed at the end of September once all eligible riders and space is confirmed.  Be sure to make alternate transportation arrangements for fall if you are a past courtesy rider.

Plant Donations – Our gardening club plans to work on the garden again this week.  They continue to look for hardy perennial donations for our front gardens.  Our crew plans on gardening on Thursday this upcoming week.  If you would like to donate a plant please place your clipping or pots in our front beds on Wednesday or Thursday morning.  Labeling your donations would also be helpful for our junior gardeners. Thank you in advance.

Chipmunk App Pilot – HWSTS would like to invite you to pilot Chipmunk (a school bus tracking app) if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at: [email protected] . With Chipmunk, you are able to quickly and efficiently access the bus information you are looking for when you need it the most. Chipmunk allows you to:

  • See the location and travel direction of the school bus on a live map as it makes it’s way to the specific pickup or drop-off spot – for any of your children.
  • Know the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the school bus. This is especially helpful for those parents who have multiple children on different buses going to school. For each child, the ETA is provided in both number of minutes and actual expected arrival time.
  • Receive instant messaging from your transportation provider regarding any delays or cancellations that is pertinent to your child’s bus route or school to help keep you informed.

To use the Chipmunk app you download it on your phone from the app store, and use “hwsts” as the quick code to login. Then login using a BPWeb parent account and you should be able to see the student’s bussing information attached to your account.
