Parking Safety Reminders

Parents/Guardians:

Please read the following reminders about Parking Lot and Drop off/Pick Up Safety for our students.  It is vitally important that everyone cooperates with these rules to keep our children safe.  Our parking areas are extremely busy this year with heavier traffic due to Covid-19:

  1. There is no stopping along the edge of Lewis Road anywhere near the school – This not only blocks traffic but puts students at risk
  2. Handicap parking spaces are designated for only those who have a legal handicap parking permit displayed.  Please do not use these spots even if “you are just going to be a minute.”  It is against the law.
  3. During drop-off in the “Kiss and Drop” area, please have your children ready to exit your car.  This area is extremely busy and we need cars to keep flowing.  There is not time for you to dress your children in their winter gear and face masks on the sidewalk.  The dressing tasks need to be completed at home or you may park in the south parking lot and get your children ready.
  4. At pick-up time, please pull into an available parking space.  If no space is available, please continue circling until you find a space similar to parking at the mall.  Do not park in the laneways.  Be considerate of others trying to back out to free up their parking space and please be patient as you exit giving priority to school buses.
  5. Once you have picked up your children from the gate area, please proceed back to your vehicle quickly as others will be needing your parking space.  Please do not take time to visit with friends and neighbours on the sidewalks as this not only creates further congestion in the parking lot but also violates public social distancing protocols of Public Health on the property.

Thank-you for your ongoing patience and adherence to these important rules.
