Welcome to School Council!

At Westwood Elementary School, we believe that education is a shared responsibility between the home, the school and the community. Supportive parents & care givers, caring educators and active community members are partners in education working together for the benefit of children. We welcome any parents/caregivers that are interested in being a part of school council.

What is School Council?

The role of School Council is to advise school staff of recommendations for our school annual plan. It provides a forum through which members can contribute to improving student achievement and school performance. Working in an advisory capacity, we provide input and make recommendations to the school administrative team on a wide range of topics. Examples of areas that may require consultation with school council include academics (literacy, numeracy, and learning skill development), positive culture and well-being, and parent engagement to support student achievement.
