Hello Class of 2025! 
 
We know how excited you are to be entering into what might be your last semester of high school!  We wanted to share some important information below!! Please be sure to read all of the information!
In order to officially graduate all students must earn:
  • 30 credits (please see your next report card to ensure that your are meeting the compulsory and elective sections required),
  • complete 40 community service hours
  • have successfully obtained the literacy requirement either by passing the OSSLT or by completing the OLC4O course.
***You may have taken 2 eLearning courses and met the optional requirement.  If you have not please see below.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS-
If you have not handed in your Community Service hours, please submit them as soon as possible. Forms can be found at the front of Ms Abbott’s desk in the Guidance office or via this LINK. A follow up email will be coming out to those that have not yet handed in their hours.
What You Need to Know! A minimum of 40 Community Involvement Hours are required for Graduation in Ontario. CHECKLIST FOR COMPLETING YOUR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT HOURS
ELEARNING REQUIREMENT:
If you have not taken 2 eLearning courses, you may wish to opt out of this requirement, that can be done on Parent Portal or if you are over the age of 18, you may consent to this.  Please have this done at the earliest convenience.
GRADUATION PHOTOS:
Graduation photos are done by an outside company, Prestige Photography.  Prestige will be at Westmount from Feb 10-Feb 27th taking photos.  If you would like to book a Graduation Photo Session please use this link. Once you have booked your session, it will take place is the room beside the coop office.  Spots tend to fill up quickly, please try to book soon and attend your session promptly.
GRADUATION AND AWARDS LINK:
If you are graduating, please take a moment to fill out this link.  We will use this information for our Awards discussions and to reach out to after you leave school (only in the event that we need to).  We will start our Awards discussions in April.  So please have this link filled out by April 1, 2025.  If you are leaving at the end of Sem 1, please fill this link before you leave, as you will not have access to your HWDSB accounts starting in Semester 2.
VALEDICTORIAN:
Please look for the more information regarding the nomination and voting process for Valedictorian mid Semester 2.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY DATE & TIME:
Commencement is a ceremony that all students in their 4th year of high school or higher may attend, even if they are not meeting graduation requirements.  Attending this ceremony does not mean that you are a graduate. You must meet the above requirements in over to officially graduate.

TIME: 4:30 PM
LOCATION: FIRST ONTARIO CONCERT HALL
COMMENCEMENT FEES, GOWNS AND TICKETS:
Please look for an email in the near future with the link to order gowns.  Each student will be given 6 tickets as part of their fee.  All students MUST use the link that will be sent out and order a gown (the cost is included in the Commencement fee)
COMMENCEMENT BREAKFAST:

GRAD WEAR:
Reminder that Grad Wear is available online for any students still wishing to purchase an item. Westmount Secondary School
PROM INFORMATION-
Prom will be hosted on Wednesday May 21, 2025 from 5 pm- 11pm at Carmen’s Banquet Centre (1520 Stone Church Rd)
the cost is $50.00 a ticket and will include dinner and a dance
Tickets sales will start early February and close March 7.  Permission forms will be available for pick up and Schoolcash will be used to collect the fee. (Please see Ms Kerrigan with any questions)
YEARBOOKS-
Yearbook quotes are due before March Break.  Yearbooks will be available to be picked up in early July.  The cost will be $26.50 and fees can be paid on Schoolcash online in April.  (Please see Ms Henderson with any questions).
