Important Notice: Back Playground Access During School Hours

Dear families,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to address an important matter concerning our school’s back playground.
As many of you are aware, the back playground serves as an extension of our learning environment, and it is indeed considered an additional classroom space for our students. Our dedicated staff often utilize this area for various educational activities, physical education classes, and outdoor learning experiences. Currently our school gym is being renovated and all gym classes are taking place outside on the back playground. Gym classes run until dismissal time at 3:35PM.
To ensure the safety and well-being of both our students and staff, we must restrict access to the back playground during school hours. It is essential that adults do not enter this area while classes are in session. We kindly request that parents and guardians remain outside the fence area until dismissal time which is at 3:35PM.
This protocol is in place for several reasons:
1. **Safety:** Having adults on the back playground while students are present can create safety concerns and distractions that could compromise the learning environment.
2. **Privacy:** Students and teachers need a space where they can engage in their educational activities without external interruptions or distractions.
3. **Supervision:** Our staff is responsible for the supervision and well-being of students during school hours. Having adults in the same space can complicate this responsibility.
We understand that you may wish to watch your child during nutrition breaks or during other outdoor activities, or come early to wait for them during dismissal time, but we kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to this protocol. We want to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for all our students.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the safety and educational focus of our school.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community.
Sincerely,
D. Fede
