EQAO Results

Dear families,

Earlier this week, students who were in grades 3 or 6 last year brought home their Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) results for the 2021-22 assessments.

The 2021-22 school year marked the first time Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) students and staff participated in the EQAO process since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. These results also reflect a new, modernized approach to assessments. 2021-22 was the first time EQAO used computer-based assessments to measure reading, writing, and mathematics skills.

We continue to strive to support well-being and want students and families to know how much we appreciate their participation in last year’s EQAO process.

After two years of EQAO postponements, the 2021-22 results represent a new baseline for the HWDSB. School and school board staff will use the data to support new and existing learning recovery strategies. HWDSB has created Pandemic Recovery Commitments, with supportive learning environments and new learning practices being two areas of focus.

Thank you for helping to support Student Learning and Achievement at Viscount Montgomery.

Sincerely,

D. Fede
Principal
