Updates from Tiffany Hills January 19, 2018

Here are a few reminders and information about upcoming initiatives at our school.

Spirit Wear Sales:  Student Council and School Council have joined together to offer Spirit Wear sales to our students, staff and families.  Parents will have the opportunity to order a t-shirt or hoodie in grey or blue for their child, and have the option to purchase a personalized word or message in the item.  There will be size samples available in the office from January 22-29th.  All orders are due by Friday February 2nd and must include an order form. Sharing some sad news…one of the students who attended Tiffany Hills has had a house fire earlier this month and the family has been displaced from their home.  While the student does not attend our school anymore, we still consider him a part of the Tiffany Hills extended family.  There is a “gofundme” page:  https://www.gofundme.com/family-of-10-homeless-after-fire ; however, if anyone would like to help support the family, we are collecting gift cards from a variety of stores to help them get back on their feet.  Gift cards of any value from Walmart, grocery stores, or other stores are welcome and can be brought to our office for collection.  We will ensure the family receives them.

Daily Physical Activity:  As you know the Ministry mandates that all students must receive at least 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.  When students do not have a scheduled Gym period in the day, the homeroom teacher has scheduled this time to ensure our students are active and that we are meeting this requirement.  This block of time can be done in one 20 minute block, or in 2 or more shorter blocks of time, and may take place in the classroom, outside or gymnasium.  At Tiffany Hills we are fortunate to have a large gym which can hold two classes at once for gym or DPA.  If you have any questions about Daily Physical Activity, please contact the classroom teacher or our school office.

Friday January 26:  PA Day, no school for students

Monday January 29:  last day for pizza day order forms

Wednesday January 31:  Buffalo Wild Wings Tiffany Hills Spirit Night (more details to come)

Friday February 2:  Last day for Spirit Wear Sales (order forms sent home today)
