Happy Birthday, Tiffany Hills!

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to our beautiful school, Tiffany Hills!  On Tuesday January 9th, we celebrated our one year anniversary.  In a school-wide assembly, we took a look back at our journey, made a wish for our school in the future and blew out a birthday candle.  It is hard to imagine that one year ago, we all entered the gymnasium for the first time, found our friends, found our new classrooms, and began our journey to becoming the wonderful, innovative and creative school that we have become.  Our students have adopted the Grey Wolf as our mascot, joined athletic teams, led in Student Council, and have created a multitude of spirited opportunities in our school.  I would like to thank our Students, Staff, our School Council parents and our community for making our first year at Tiffany Hills an amazing one!  Here’s to many more!

Library Growth:  Thanks to our School Council fundraising efforts and for your participation, we have purchased many new books for our library.  Recently we received a shipment of 284 books new to our program and with the help of HWDSB staff and our parent volunteers, all of the books are shelved and ready to be signed out!  Let’s get reading!!

Parking and Roadway Reminders:  Winter snow brings many challenges to our families for getting their children to and from school safely.  We are a growing population and entry and dismissal times are very busy with cars dropping off students, bus transportation and students walking to and from school.  It is critical that we all work together and obey road and school property signs so that students and families are safe each day.  I will continue to work with our Area Supervisor and snow-removal partners to ensure that snow is cleared in an efficient and appropriate manner.  Below are some reminders to be aware of:

  • Kiss & Ride – please do not park in this area.  It is designed for cars to pull into a spot, let your child out of the car and drive away.  Please do not leave your car unattended in this area at any time.
  • Parking is permitted in identified parking spots only.  Please do not park or stop along any lane way, bus route or fire access route (example: along lane way in the front parking lot near the main entrance – this is a fire access route and must be kept clear at all times).
  • If you are picking up your child near the main entrance of the school, we encourage you to park your car along the road and walk over to pick your child up.
  • Please follow speed limits along Raymond Rd, and obey crossing guard instructions.

Thank your for your attention to these reminders and for helping to keep our students safe.  Have a great weekend and an even better 2018!
