Dance Club – “Dance Club has arrived at Tapleytown! Created and led by students, students in grades 6-8 have started practicing routines in the gym at nutrition breaks. The hope is that they will be ready to perform the dances for younger students at the jump rope for heart day. It has been great to see the students coming together and learning the moves so quickly in a short amount of time.”
Eco Club – Last month was Earth week, and the school made a
collective effort to clean up litter around the outside of the school. They did an impressive job and the schoolgrounds are looking fantastic!
Also, the Eco Club has started Tapleytown’s Recyling Program, and we thank them for collecting the recyling from all of the classrooms every week.
Tapleytown Band – On May 27th 2025 the Tapleytown band performed in front of six schools while visiting Pier 8 in Hamilton. The concert concluded with students encouraged to participate in physical activities to enjoy the great weather. Thanks to all who worked hard this year to make band and this concert a success.
Chess Club: Continues to meet and improve their skills.
H.A.T.T. Team: May is known as Mental Health month. The students involved in HAT, shared fun tips and ideas over the announcements to help students and staff take care of their mental health.
HAT also created speech bubbles about what mental health meant to them.
HWDSB focused on “let’s quack about mental health!” HAT students created a bulletin board themed “be kind to your mind” that included students phrases about mental health and positive affirmations!
Miss Graham and HAT hid ducks around the school to promote mental health awareness! The students had a great time hunting for them.
