Ridgemount Weekly Update – Oct 5 – 9, 2020

Ridgemount Families,

A reminder that next Monday, October 12, 2020 is Thanksgiving so there will be no school that day.

Remote/In-Person Transition: Parents/guardians will be able to submit their intention to choose between remote and in-person school programs starting Monday, October 5 through a form in the Parent Portal. The first transition date, originally communicated as October 13, is delayed and will begin November 3. Many factors contributed to this decision, including the staggered start, the significant demand for remote learning, the additional time needed to assess school level space in order to maintain physical distancing, and the anticipated number of changes to student and staff class assignments.

• COVID Assessment and Testing Centres in Hamilton and testing guidelines, based on the Ontario provincial guidelines, can be found here. Individuals living in Hamilton can now book a COVID test online and no longer require approval from Public Health or a healthcare practitioner.  In addition a new testing centre has opened at 100 West 5^th Street.
