Ridgemount Families,

As we approach the final week of school before the holidays we have a few goodbyes to mention at Ridegmount. Congratulations to Ms. Spencer our EA that will be retiring at the end of this week. We thank her for all of her years of support and wish her the best as she looks forward to spending time with her grandchildren. We thank Ms. Gupta one of our DECE’s that has been filling in at Ridgemount as she completes her assignment this week. We thank Ms. Gupta as she will be missed but wish her all the best in her next school. We look forward to our DECE, Ms. O’Shea,  returning to the class in January 2019!

Thank you also to Ms. Albert who has been acting as our head caretaker and working tirelessly to keep Ridgemount clean and safe for all of us. We will greatly miss Ms. Albert  but want to wish her all the best as she moves into her new position at Westmount Secondary School.   Finally, we sad to be saying goodbye to Ms. Panju, our Vice Principal, as she will be moving into a full time position as Vice Principal at Prince of Wales Elementary School. We wish her all the best and thank her for all of her leadership and support at Ridgemount. Prince of Wales is lucky to have you join their team!

We are happy to welcome back Ms. Schwenger who filled in for a few months last year. She will fill in as Vice Principal in the new year.

We also want to thank all of our student teachers for their efforts and involvement in our school over the last few weeks. Our student teachers finished their placements last Friday and we wish them all well as they finish up their schooling.

Please be sure to view the Week at a Glance as there are several events taking place this week. Click on the link below to view.

A reminder to be sure that students dress appropriately for the weather as it is getting colder. Be sure to check the lost and found bin when you are in the school as we have an overflow of  items. These items will be sent off to local charities later this week so be sure to have your child check for lost items. A reminder to remind your children to keep the snow on the ground. They may roll, place and build snow sculptures but may not toss, throw or kick snow as there will be appropriate consequences. Thank you.

The best way to keep updated is to register to our school website at: www.hwdsb.on.ca/ridgemount  to keep updated on upcoming school events and news!! Be sure to tell our new Ridgemount families to register to our website as well!

Please follow Ridgemount on Twitter to view our work and other Ridgemount highlights at: @Ridgmeount_HWDSB.
