Dear Ridgemount Families:

Report Card

Just a reminder that progress reports go home this Tues, Oct 30. Be sure to check your child’s backpack and ask about the report so that you can review how they are progressing this year especially in the Learning Skills and Work Habits section or if they received a check in the “Progressing with difficulty” box. Please also be sure to connect with your child’s teacher to book an interview time. Most of our teachers are will have slots on Thur Nov 1 from 3:45-6:45pm or Fri Nov 2 from 8:30-11:30am. There may be a few teachers with some flexibility so please be sure to reach out to your child’s teacher to book a time that works for the both of you. Our grade 6, 7 and 8 teachers will be set up at tables in the gymnasium on the times mentioned above and it will meet with you on a first come first serve basis. All rotary teachers in one place will make it easier for you to meet with the teacher that teaches your child that particular subject. Please be mindful of time limits as our teachers do have many families to meet so we will do our best to make sure our interviews run efficiently. A reminder that there is a PA day on Friday, Nov 2nd so there is no school for students.

Our Halloween parade will take place on Wed Oct 31 at 9:25am. We ask that parents send costumes with students and to avoid confusion and congestion in the school please allow our staff to assist with putting on costumes. We ask that you avoid anything to complicated or inappropriate for school(make up is ok if very simple or applied before coming to school, overly detailed costumes, masks that block their vision or props that are violent in nature – swords, knives, guns etc. ) and overly bulky or cumbersome costumes so that we do not have any serious falls or trips. The K-5 students and those in gr 6-8 that choose will be parading out the West doors at the entrance closest to the arena and doing a circuit around the blacktop returning to their classes in the primary doors at the east side by the portable. We invite families to gather along the edge of the blacktop to enjoy our parade. A reminder that K-5 students will also be enjoying a Fall Carnival on Halloween hosted by our Student Council. Our student council is asking for a $1.00 or whatever spare change they can give” to support this event. We are also still collecting perishable food items for our “Scare Hunger Away” initiative to support needy families in our city.
