Ridgemount Families:

Thank you for helping us by completing and returning all forms that were sent home with your child on the first week of school. We know that there are a lot but we need these to be sure our files are updated and accurate. The first month of the school year is always about organization and setting our school up for the year . We will be monitoring our class numbers and may have to make some class or staff changes depending on our class sizes. You will be notified soon if your child will be impacted by any changes that may occur. Please contact myself or Mrs. Panju if you have any questions about this. Please be reassured that we will do what we can to ensure the least amount of disruption for your child and the school.

A reminder to review the following Ridgemount Road to Success Expectations with your child. Our students are doing a super job making sure that they are setting goals to meet these expectations!! Well done Roadrunners!!

Ridgemount Road To Success Expectations:

  1. Always keep your hands and feet to yourself
  2. Be where you’re supposed to be
  3. Treat others how you want to be treated
  4. Calm and quiet movement in the hall
  5. Listen to and follow instruction from all adults in the school

A reminder that the busing situation will continue to be a work in progress. Please be sure to compete and send in Courtesy Transportation Forms if you are requesting busing and you are within the designated walking distance. We will be monitoring our numbers on the buses closely this week and can then approve transportation if there is space. Please contact the transportation department at 905 523 – 2318.

In order to ensure the safety of everyone at Ridgemount please adhere to the traffic / parking signs posted around the school premises. There are designated parking spots and areas that must be kept clear for our buses. Our buses stop on Hester Street and on Ronaldshay Avenue so please keep these areas clear at all times. There is parking/stopping on the East side of Ronaldshay and further up Ronaldshay adjacent the staff parking lot. We ask that parents/guardians not enter the school parking lot during entry and dismissal as we also have our students with special needs loading and unloading buses in the parking lot.  The City By Law officers do monitor our school and will ticket so please be diligent in abiding by these rules.

Be sure to register to our school website at www.hwdsb.on.ca/ridgemount (under the school photo in the bottom right corner is the link to “Register”) to keep updated on upcoming school events and news!! Be sure to tell our new Ridgemount families to register to our website as well!

A reminder that if you need to stop by the school you will need to enter at the front entrance on Hester St. As we are a secure facility you will need to push the doorbell button and wait for an office staff to identify you and then open the door.  If you are dropping off lunches for your child you can place it on the lunch cart outside the office labelled “Student Lunches”. Be sure to prearrange this with your child so that they know to come to the office at the Nutrition Break to pick up their lunch as we are unable to keep lunches in the office area.
