Hello Ridgemount Families!April 12 is Jersey Day

Thanks to everyone for participating in our Jersey Day on Wednesday, April 12! What a very generous and caring group of students and families we have at Ridgemount! Our Me to We Team organized this very successful Jersey Day and raised $300 to help support the families involved in the very tragic bus accident last weekend. Thank you to Ms. Murray and Ms. Davies for their efforts making this event such a success and for reminding us of the importance of global citizenship and what a caring and united country we live in.

Just a reminder to please adhere to the traffic signs located around the school. We want to ensure the safety of all students during the very busy entry and dismissal times.  To avoid congestion and possible accidents please do not enter the parking lot during entry and dismissal and do not stop or park where the buses load at the front of the school and on the side. Thank you.

No ParkingSafety First

Parents, please be reminded that our transportation department is asking that you be sure to leave space at the Bus Pick Up locations for the bus to stop safely so it does not have to block driveways or entrances.  If possible please walk to the bus stop to avoid congestion. Please be sure to contact the transportation department at 905 523 – 2318 if there are any issues or concerns with busing. A reminder to all parents and guardians that you must at all times contact the school office or the transportation department if there are bus related issues to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  For bus delays contact 905 523-2318 for information on how to receive up-to-date notifications.  Thank  you!

A reminder to review the following steps with your children as these our our  “Ridgemount Road to Success” steps that we are focusing on to improve our school climate:

  1. Always keep your hands and feet to yourself
  2. Be where you’re supposed to be
  3. Treat others how you want to be treated
  4. Calm and quiet movement in the hall
  5. Listen to and follow instruction from all adults in the school

Parents and guardians, please have a conversation with your child or children about these steps to success and our RESPONSIBILITY focus. What do these look like? How can we accomplish these goals? How do these goals show Responsibility which is the focus for the next few weeks and April’s assembly.

Responsibility
  • I will follow the school and classroom rules.
  • I will come to school on time.
  • I will fill in my agenda and share it with my parents.
  • I will bring everything I need into the class.

Growth and Development Program (Health & Phys. Ed)

A reminder that our Growth and Development Teachers of Health and Physical Education will be sending home parent / guardian letters to have you consent to having your child participate in the Growth & Development Curriculum program offered at all schools in Ontario. We are available to meet with any parents/ guardians that have questions to support this learning and will also make arrangements to have interpreters available if required.  Please go to the Ministry Of Education Website for more information on the Growth and Development Program.
