Hello Ridgemount Families,

Just a few things as we approach the Easter Weekend. Please be reminded that this Friday, March 30th is Good Friday so there is no school. Next Monday, April 2nd is Easter Monday and there is also no school that day either.

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Panju will be joining our Ridgemount staff as our new Vice Principal working with us every other day. Ms. Panju will start in her position on Monday, April 9th. She will be in over the next couple of weeks to visit and transition into her new role. We are very fortunate and thankful that Ms. Schwenger was able to fill the Vice Principal role over the last few months but will be saying goodbye to her on Friday, April 6th as she goes back to enjoy her well deserved retirement.

We also said goodbye to Ms, Galopoulos last week as she was covering for Ms. Demois. We thank Ms. Galopoulos for all that she did for Ridegmount and wish her all the best, she will be missed by all! We are happy to say that Ms. Demois will be returning to her grade 2 class in the mornings and we will have another teacher covering in the afternoons. This will be announced when we have more  information. Welcome back Ms. Demois and welcome to Ridgemount Ms. Panju!!!

We will be having a Learning Skills assembly this Thursday to celebrate and honour those students that have demonstrated excellent improvement in our monthly Learning Skill & Work Habits – RESPONSIBILITY. Below are a few of the ways students can demonstrate good RESPONSIBILITY at Ridgemount. Congratulations to those students receiving the RESPONSIBILITY AWARDS!!

Responsibility
o   I will follow the school and classroom rules.

o   I will come to school on time.

o   I will fill in my agenda and share it with my parents.

o   I will bring everything I need into the class.

We have also launched our new school logo and are excited to be embarking on our Ridemount Road to Success Journey. Stay tuned for more information on this!Ridgemount Road Runners

A reminder to those students choosing to sell chocolates for our school fundraiser that all unsold chocolates are to be returned to your child’s teacher. Please also be sure to check that all money collected is counted correctly and returned to the school. If you have any questions about chocolate sales please contact your child’s teacher as this amazing event is now in full swing! Stay tuned for updates. Thanks to Mr. Massie and all of our staff for their help with this great fundraising event!

Thanks to all parents/guardians for assisting us with making Ridgemount a rich learning environment and a safe place by adhering to the parking signs posted at the front and side of the school. Be sure to not block the bus loading zones as those violating could be ticketed and we do want to ensure the safety of all students.

No Parking

Please support us by making sure students are on time so they do not miss their buses and by encouraging those that can walk to school to please do so. A reminder to continue to talk to students about bus safety as we continue to hear from drivers that there are occasionally issues. We apologize for the buses that have arrived late this last month. We are continuing to share our concerns and will continue to address these issues with our Transportation Department.

A reminder to please be sure to contact the school if your child is going to be absent or will be picked up early. Clearly say your child’s full name, their teachers name and the reason for the absence.  The school  number is 905 575 –  1535.  Please try to be on time so as not to disrupt the morning announcements and the instruction of the students. Only those gr 6-8 students that have signed consent forms will be permitted to leave the school grounds during the Second Nutrition Break (1:05-1:45). Those students that do leave are asked to return upon entry at 1:45pm. Thank you.
