Weekly Update

February Happy February Everyone!

Thank you to everyone for continuing to work with us towards making sure that the streets and parking lot around the school are safe and less congested.  Safety First

Just a reminder to please adhere to the traffic signs located around the school. We want to ensure the safety of all students during the very busy entry and dismissal times.  To avoid congestion and possible accidents please do not enter the parking lot during entry and dismissal and do not stop or park where the buses load.

No Parking

Ridgemount had school bus safety presentations this past week and with the increase in incidents reported by the bus drivers on the buses we are asking that parents/guardians review the school bus rules from this poster.

Bus Rules

Due to safety concerns those students not following the school bus rules may be suspended from the bus.

A reminder to please be sure to contact the school if your child is going to be absent or will be picked up early. Clearly say your child’s full name, their teachers name and the reason for the absence.  The school  number is 905 575 –  1535.  Please try to be on time so as not to disrupt the morning announcements and the instruction of the students.

My apologies for not posting a weekly update earlier this week.  Most of the events for the week were posted on the school website calendar. Be sure to share with others that our school calendar, news and updates are on our website and that families must register online to receive the most updated information. Families can register at:

Please be sure that students dress appropriately for the colder weather and to support our ECO school initiative please provide litterless lunches where possible (use resusable containers, spoons and avoid packaged items where possible).

Green Smoothie Bike

Thanks to Ms. Gresku and the ECO Team for sharing the  Green Smoothie Bike Treats with everyone. We raised some money towards promoting our ECO friendly school and enjoyed some healthy treats while doing so!!

The weekly update with next weeks activities and events at Ridgemount will be posted later in the week. Please feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions or concerns. Our ESL Teacher and Settlement Worker in Schools who speaks Arabic (Marriam Khalil), are also available on Tuesdays to provide support to any of our new families. Please contact the school office at 905 575 5135 to make an appointment.

Thank you and have a great week!

Mr. Carey – Principal
