Secure Schools Safety Awareness Month: Prepared together, Safe together

Dear Families,

At Queen Mary, we are committed to fostering safety, care, and preparedness. Over the next several weeks, we will focus on emergency procedures so students and staff can respond calmly and confidently if ever needed.

We recognize that safety drills can bring up different emotions and will support students with compassion throughout the process. This work is part of the board’s commitment to creating safe, caring environments where everyone feels supported.

Week 1 Sept 29th: focus on fire & bomb threat evacuation procedures.

Week 2 Oct 6th: focus on lockdown, hold and secure, and privacy hold protocols.

Week 3 Oct 13th: focus on shelter in place procedures .

Week 4 Oct 20th: review drills with ending with a final fire evacuation practice
