Happy New Year

Dear Prince of Wales Community,

Welcome back! We hope you’ve had a fantastic break filled with joy and relaxation. As we start this new year together, we’re excited to welcome our students back to continue their learning journey. We are also excited to welcome Ms. Shelly Vohra as our new full time vice principal, as well as Mrs. Laurie Behr, who will join us as a transitional vice principal for the month of January.

To ensure a smooth transition and a successful start to the new term, we wanted to remind everyone about some important matters:

1. Routines and Timings: Please remember to adhere to school timings and routines. Arriving punctually sets a positive tone for the day and helps our students ease back into their learning environment smoothly.
2. Winter Weather Preparations: With the winter season upon us, it’s crucial to prepare for snowy days. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and ensure students are dressed warmly for the cold weather, along with a pair of shoes for indoor use. In case of any changes to the schedule due to inclement weather, HWDSB will promptly notify everyone through their communication channels (phone calls and social media).
3. Lost and Found: Last year, we had numerous unclaimed items in our lost and found box in the foyer. Please encourage your child to ensure they are taking all their belongings with them at the end of the day; labeling your child’s belongings can significantly help with this endeavour.
4. Cell Phones: Please ensure you have read our cell phone policy for Prince of Wales (posted on the website). Devices are not permitted during instructional time and students are only to use them during breaks (10:10-10:50 and 12:30-1:10). Please call the school office if you need to get a hold of your child. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
