International Day of Pink Thursday April 8

We are recognizing International Day of Pink this Thursday April 8th as it is rescheduled from Wed Apr 14.

International Day of Pink is an annual event to raise awareness and commit to ending the spread of bullying, hatred, Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia, and Transmisogyny within our schools and our communities. This year Day of Pink is being celebrated as usual on the second Wednesday in the month of April, which is April 14th, 2021. Unfortunately, this very important day for our Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ students, families, and staff, takes place within the newly created provincial April Break. So, to continue in the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board’s tradition of raising awareness on Day of Pink, HWDSB will be officially recognizing International Day of Pink on Thursday, April 8th, 2021. HWDSB is also committing to social media awareness on April 14th during the break and encourage you to do so in support of our students, families, and colleagues.
