Lincoln Alexander After-School Playground Procedures and Fenced Playground Area

It has been a longstanding tradition for students and families to gather at the fenced-in playground area across from the school upon dismissal and after school hours, however, a few concerns about student safety have been brought to our attention recently.

While we welcome families to enjoy this time of community we are asking for your help and support to enhance student safety in the following ways:

  1. Lincoln Alexander staff are on duty to supervise safe dismissal of students on the blacktop area from 2:40 – 2:55 pm.
  2. All students must have an adult, who is responsible for them while at the fenced in playground area, after school hours, from 2:40 – 3:40 pm. Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision of their children. Independent walkers are to walk straight home if an adult is not here after school to supervise them on the playground.
  3. Students need to comply with all school expectations while still on school property. This includes, but is not limited to, any type of physical contact, including games of tackle and wrestling, hitting with sticks, and pushing or shoving.
  4. Students may only play in the fenced in playground area across from the school. The blacktop, Kindergarten fenced in area and the field directly beside the blacktop, are reserved for Umbrella After School Care use, from 2:40 pm – 3:40 pm.
  5. Once students are dismissed from the building, they may not re-enter the building for personal needs, including drinks and restroom visits.

Thanks in advance,

Lincoln Alexander Staff
