News and Notes – February 21, 2025

Hello Lake Ave Families,

You may have noticed Mrs. Tyrrell and I standing out front this week blocking traffic from entering our parking lot. We are really working to keep our students and families safe by not allowing parents to enter the parking area. We ask that you do your part by not entering the parking area, even if we are not there. If possible, it’s always best to walk with your children and avoid the traffic congestion on Delaware.

Report cards went home yesterday with students. For those in SK to grade 2, you will notice information about Acadience Reading Screening. More information can be found here: https://www.hwdsb.on.ca/elementary/programs/early-reading-screening/

Games clubs: Monday gr 4, Tuesday gr. 5, Wednesday gr. 6, Thursday gr. 7, Friday gr. 8

February 24 – Yeti Day – Classes will enjoy outdoor fun. Send your child with outdoor clothing so they can enjoy in the fun.

February 25 – Popcorn day

February 26 – Pink Shirt Day – wear a pink shirt to show support for kindness and anti-bullying

February 27 – Pizza Day

February 28 – PD day – no school for students

March 3 – Parent Council 12:50 PM

March 10-17 March Break – no school
