News and Notes – February 20, 2026

Hello Families,

What an odd week – Family Day and a “snow day” in one week! Hopefully soon we will see the last of this Winter and look forward to warm Spring days.

Today we held a “Lock Down Drill”. We are always pleased to see how well our students and staff do in these drills and the level of compliance shown when practicing safety measures. Well done Lake Avenue Lions!

A couple of reminders:

Parking Lot: Please do not drive in and drop off or pick up kids. This is not safe for staff or students. We also ask that you use walkways to bring your children to the building rather than walking through the parking lot.

Entering School: Parents, please do not go to classrooms or portables directly. Students should enter with their classes each morning at 8:50 AM. On time arrival benefits everyone.

Vaccine Suspensions: Letters have been sent to families regarding vaccines. If your child is not up to date with their vaccines they may be suspended from school in March. Please see the attached information or contact public health.
