News and Notes – January 16, 2026
Hello Lake Ave Families!
We hope you were able to find some down time with your children during our first snow day of the season. I measured 22cm of snow at my house and it was fun to compare totals with family and friends from all around southern Ontario…Real World Math! Please remind your children that throwing snow is not allowed at school. It may seem harmless but often leads to fights, bad feelings, and injuries.
Unfortunately we missed this week’s pizza day due to the snow day. We will honour the orders next Thursday and students can add to the order if they did not get a chance to order this week.

Monday January 19th – Riverdale Community Meeting 6:45 PM at the Recreation Centre. There will be a guest speaker to share information about the dangers of social media for children.
Wednesday January 21 – Popcorn day $2/bag

Friday January 23 – PD day – No school for students.
Tuesday January 27 – Family Literacy Day
