News and Notes – September 12
Hello Families,
Happy Friday! Today we are celebrating another successful week at Lake Ave school. Our students have really settled in and there is the buzz of learning and belonging happening in our classrooms. Today we are celebrating with our first ever “Name Day”. All students and staff are wearing name tags to allow us to better learn each other’s names and share the stories associated with how they help form our identity. With over 700 students and 70 staff, there are a lot of names to remember but each one is significant. It is something of a work in progress for me personally but an area that I am committed to.
In other news, our baseball (3 Pitch) teams are up and running, cross country is in full swing, and pizza day starts on Thursday next week.
Just a reminder to families to discuss expectations with your children if they are unsupervised in the neighbourhood. We want our students to be safe and making good choices that would make their families proud.
I hope you all enjoy the weekend with family and friends.
~Mrs. McCrory, Principal
