Death of former principal – Scott MacLeod

Dear Families,  

The staff and students at Hess Street School are saddened to learn of the death of Scott MacLeod, who passed away on December 25, 2020.  

Scott started his career with HWDSB as a teacher at Hess Street School in 2010 before joining the Learning Services team as a math facilitator. Scott became a vice-principal in 2017 before becoming a principal in 2019 back at Hess Street School where he started his career.   

Scott is survived by his wife and son. The family is planning a celebration of life later this year and when public health restrictions are lifted.  

As per Scott’s wishes, a donation can be made to support the Hess Street school community through the Hamilton Foundation for Student Success. 

Our thoughts are with Scott’s family during this difficult time. 

We will lower our flags at our school to show our respect for our former principal.
