IEP’s and Halloween

Good afternoon Guy Brown families.

Printed copies of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are being sent home this week with your child.  The IEP is a working document which will be revised throughout the school year. This IEP is in draft form to encourage you to have input into the current updated version.  If you would like to consult about the content of this document, please contact your child’s Classroom Teacher or Learning Resource Teacher.

If the draft IEP document is acceptable to you in its present form, please sign and date one of the copies. Please return the signed IEP as soon as possible. Please keep the other copy at home as a reference.

Thank you for taking the time to review the IEP.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school to schedule a time to consult about the content of this document.

Just a reminder that tomorrow we will be celebrating Halloween, although it will look different than it has in previous years.  Please ensure that your child’s costume is comfortable for them to wear for the duration of the day, as they will not be able to change in and out of it as they have been in past years.  They will still have to wear their face masks so please make sure their costume can accommodate that.  Please remember, no costume weapons of any kind and please make sure their costume is not too scary or gory, to be considerate of our younger students. Your children are welcome to bring a peanut/tree nut free snack for themselves but unfortunately snacks are not able to be shared this year.  If your child would like to participate in celebrating Halloween but would rather not wear a costume, they may choose to wear orange and black instead.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
