Portable Update

Dear Families,

We wanted to let you know that on Friday afternoon, at approximately 2:40, students and teachers in one of our portables smelled smoke in their portable.  They were immediately evacuated and the Fire Department was called.  Teachers and students in the neighbouring portables were also notified and subsequently dismissed into the school.   The Fire Department determined that there was debris in the heating system causing smoke but no fire.  The heater and portable have been deemed safe for use.  HWDSB Maintenance Services were also on site to inspect the heater and portable and have also deemed it to be safe for student and safe occupancy.
