Labour Update for Families

We would like to update you regarding labour negotiations.

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) is pleased to have learned that a tentative agreement was reached today with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO). At HWDSB, CUPE represents caretakers in schools and facilities and ETFO represents elementary teachers. Details are confidential until ratified.

At schools across our board, this will mean that the job actions by CUPE members and ETFO members will be lifted. This is a positive step as we strive to maintain positive relationships with staff and great learning environments for our students.
