Friday, November 4^th  Labour Action

CUPE, who represent caretakers and maintenance workers at HWDSB, provided notice that they will engage in a full withdrawal of services (strike) as of Friday, November 4, 2022. At this time, CUPE has indicated that the strike will continue into next week.

Gatestone school will be open for student learning during our regular school hours only, 9AM-3:50PM.  Instructional time begins at 9:15AM and ends at 3:35PM.  Our Umbrella Care Program, morning and after care for school aged children is cancelled.

Families should consider walking with your child to school tomorrow.  Our Umbrella Care Centre for non-school aged children will open during our entry time so we are expecting heavy congestion during our entry bell time.

We respect and value our CUPE employees and the important work they do.  Everyone’s patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Construction on Gatestone Drive, November 7  to November 10, 2022

The city has notified the school that next week there will be construction on Gatestone Drive from Highland Road W to ShadyGlen Drive area, weather permitting.  This section of Gatestone Drive will be closed and only local traffic (including our buses) will be permitted to access.

It would be best to access Gatestone Drive through Second Street area or through Highbury Drive.

We encourage families within walking distance to the school to please walk with your child.  This will improve safety and limit congestion near the school.

Our buses will continue with their assigned routes.
