Shelter in Place Response Today

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I wanted to let you know that our school entered into a Shelter in Place response late this afternoon because of an external environmental concern in the area of our school.

This afternoon, a strong smell of gas was coming from the caretaking parking area at the back of our school. We immediately brought students inside and called the Commercial Natural Gas company to inspect.  Students were not allowed to go outside the building and we made an announcement on the PA system.

The source of odour was found and corrective measures are in place.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank our staff for their leadership and our students for their patience during today’s event.
