Weekly Reminders from Earl Kitchener School…

OTHER…..

Fright Night:  Even though summer holidays are right around the corner the Home and School Parent group are looking for Co-ordinators and Volunteers for Fright Night. Please contact [email protected] if you can help out.

Retirement:  Shsh-sh…David our crossing guard is retiring. We will be having a surprise celebration for him on Tuesday, June 26th at dismissal. Drop by to join us in celebrating his retirement and have a piece of cake!

Medication:  If your child has medication in the school office, please ensure it is picked up by June 28th.

Play Day: Hats, sunscreen, water bottles and proper running shoes are necessary for your child to participate safely.

Lost and Found:  Please remind your child to check the Lost and Found regularly. Parents are welcome to have a look before or after school as well. Eventually unclaimed items will be donated.

Vacations:  As the weather is getting warmer, please keep the office informed if your child will be leaving early or absent for an extended weekend. The office phone lines (905-528-0223) are open 24 hours a day seven days a week. We want to ensure the safety of our students at all times.

Piano Lessons at Earl Kitchener School:  Registration is now open for in-school piano lessons at Earl Kitchener for the 2018/19 school year. In accordance with Board policy, lessons are semi-private (two students per lesson). The lessons take place during school hours, are thirty minutes long, take place once a week and are open to students from SK to Grade 5. Students must have a piano or full-sized (88 keys) keyboard with weighted keys at home in order to practice. For more information, please email Susan Chambers-Stothart at: [email protected]

Kindergarten: Registration for Kindergarten has started. If you have a child who was born in 2014 they are eligible to register for JK. Children born in 2013 that are not already attending Earl Kitchener are eligible to register for SK. Registration forms are available on our website as well as in the office. You will need 2 pieces of ID when registering (proof of birth and proof of address). If you are unsure of what forms of ID are acceptable, please feel free to contact the office. The best time to register for Kindergarten is between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
